The fire above Boulder in 4 mile canyon was the most expensive in Colorado history. We had ash and smoke at our house and I thought that it might be a brush fire in the fields nearby, but found out later... This picture was from the park by our house on the day that it started - Labor Day Sept 7th. The sunset is behind the smoke. The picture shows the line of smoke, but doesn't show the flames that we could see. It was really sad to hear the stories.
