Seth the electrian

Seth built this "house" as a project over spring break. His teacher thought he would like to do it, since he loves to do things electronically. He built this all on his own, without any help from us! (I don't think I would have known what to do anyway). He did a great job and was able to show it to the whole 4th grade and then the Principal wanted to see and keep it to have him show others! We are so proud of the great work he does!

If you don't see the video, he built a ceiling fan, a blender and lights on the ceiling.

updates

So much has happened this past month. I feel that April whizzed by! Derek's sister came to visit over Easter and her birthday! We all had fun with her here. Seth and Spencer look forward to her visits each time, now that Maggie has met Reb, I 'm sure she will look forward to her visits also!

While Reb was here NASA did a tour with one of 7 slices of a Moon Rock. We thought we would drive down the street to the local University here and check it out! As I noticed the actual moon rock, I realized we had seen one just like this before, several times in fact! It was kind of funny to think about. Whenever we visit Gma and Gpa in Houston, we stop at NASA as well.

Maggie is like her brothers in that she doesn't enjoy time on the tummy! She complains about it a lot. We put her there anyway, she needs to get a strong neck! Well, last week we put her on her tummy and she accidentally rolled over! Spencer and I cheered so loudly, she smiled and laughed! We put her on her tummy again, and she rolled over again! She has done that everyday since! That has been a lot of fun to see! I think it is the first thing she has done "on time for her, as she has been about 2 months behind on most everything. I wonder if that means that she is starting to "catch" up? I took her in to the doc for a check up on her reflux med and some crazy formula situations, and found out that she weighs 11lbs 12oz! She is growing and is officially on the normal baby growth chart! She is at 3 percent for her weight! Yea!!

The other day we had a snow day (no school because of no snow!) We celebrated by making lots of chemical reactions on the driveway. It was a mess by the end of the day, but boy did we have loads of fun! Spencer built this volcano out of an old cereal box and paper, held together with tape and the top was a plastic cup. Seth put in the baking soda and the vinegar, and off it went. It was fun! I love days like that.

Confernce time

Seth told me the other day that he loves conference time. I asked him why, he said that he loves the things we do during conf. and listen to the prophet. We made it a tradition to play Legos and eat nachos DURING Conference. I am glad that we have made these traditions so that our kids can listen and feel of the spirit during all the talks. Good thing for Internet too so we can watch it! So far, the talks have been so wonderful as usual. It is interesting to me that the things that I am thinking about or that Derek and I are discussing are usually a topic that is spoken about.

Spring break

We went to the zoo and out to lunch with Dad! the zoo was packed! More than I've ever seen it before. We had to park a long ways away and stand in line! That is amazing! Seth took most of the pictures and did a great job! Check out the bats! I didn't know they had bats at the zoo! They were huge and so fascinating! We also had a scout activity going to the police station for a tour. It was interesting to see! Derek took of Thursday and Friday and so I painted Maggie's room! It was blue before with trains painted on the walls, now it is a little off white, a little brown, a little yellow. The color seems to change with light in it or when it is dark. I made curtains also. Now it looks more like a girl room and less like a boy. We moved her into her own room a few nights later. Ah, peace and quiet in our room. She makes so many noises when she sleeps, it is nice to not hear all of that! I think we all sleep better. Although, it is hard to shut the door after putting her down!

St. Patricks Day

Notice the GREEN? We had fun dressing up. Seth has green eyes, so he kept saying that he didn't need to wear green. We had to convince him of how fun it really can be! He doesn't know how his eyes look even more green and how nice he looks in green. My dad would say the same thing growing up all the time was that his eyes were green, he didn't need to wear it! (We all thought his eyes were blue, so we would still pinch him.) Everyone here looks so festive waiting for the parade. Alison found an awesome spot for everyone to be able to come too! Thanks! The Hansen's showed up a little later, my camera died so I didn't get that picture. It is kind of funny, but my kids favorite float was the Sand bar float. They every year have these amazing floats. This year was a train with steam coming out the top and loud music. Everyone was dancing. Seth and Spencer thought it was great. I thought the hula-hoopers were fascinating. Actually, a couple days later we saw them all at the park practicing! I was amazed again. Could any of you keep a hula on for very long, or have it go around your neck and not hurt?

It was a fun day!
